Circle of Trust event: "Can Generative AI be Trusted?"

Circle of Trust hosted an incredible and very important event, focused on the topic of whether generative AI can be trusted. The panel consisted of distinguished experts and leaders in technology and artificial intelligence. Let's explored the exciting advancements in generative AI and the ethical considerations surrounding its use.

Evenness aimed to equip CEOs with a comprehensive understanding of generative AI and its far-reaching implications for their organizations. By addressing both the exciting advancements and the ethical challenges associated with this technology, the event fostered a sense of awareness and responsibility among leaders. It emphasized the significance of incorporating generative AI into strategic decision-making processes while upholding ethical standards and legal obligations.

The event was expertly hosted by Heena Jethwa, Founding Partner of Web3 Circle of Trust by Evenness, who ensured a smooth and engaging experience for the attendees. Opening remarks were delivered by Eve Logunova-Parker, the visionary Founder & CEO of Evenness, setting the stage for a thought-provoking and impactful event. The event brought together a lineup of esteemed speakers who shared inspiring content and insights:

  • Dr. Cara Antoine - EVP, Chief Technology, Innovation & Portfolio Officer at Capgemini

  • Dr. Ingrid Vasiliu-Feltes - CEO at Softhread // Founder & CEO at Institute for Science, Entrepreneurship and Investments

  • Jack Watts (Jack of all AI) - Freelance AI Consultant at Jack of all AI Limited // Former Data & Computing expert, and Startup Ecosystem builder at NVIDIA and NetApp

One of the most significant advancements discussed was the emergence of large language models like OpenAI's GPT-3 and GPT-4. These models leverage massive amounts of data to generate coherent and contextually relevant text. They have applications in chatbots, language translation, content generation, and even code writing. The multi-modality of combining generative AI with other AI tools was also highlighted, creating exciting possibilities for creators and developers.

Reinforcement learning for generative models was another area of excitement. By incorporating reinforcement learning techniques, generative models can learn to generate sequences, make decisions, and interact with their environment more effectively. This has found applications in game playing, robotics, and autonomous systems.

"We have witnessed groundbreaking progress in generative AI advancement in several areas, prompting great excitement within the scientific, tech, business, and investment communities. We have also noticed increased integration with AR, VR, XR and wearables or sensors, which further amplifies the opportunities and is poised to reshape and recalibrate the way we learn, work and entertain ourselves, as well as future generations."

- Dr. Ingrid Vasiliu-Feltes - CEO at Softhread and Founder & CEO at Institute for Science, Entrepreneurship and Investments.

The event also touched upon the ethical concerns associated with generative AI, particularly with deepfake technologies. Deepfakes, leveraging generative AI techniques, allow for highly realistic manipulation of images and videos, raising concerns about potential misuse. Copyright infringement and plagiarism were also discussed in relation to generative AI's use of copyrighted materials in training data.

The convergence of generative AI with cognitive AI and semantic web analysis has yielded more sophisticated natural language processing and advanced information retrieval systems. This integration holds promise for developing intelligent assistance, recommendation systems, and predictive analytics tools. Furthermore, the combination of generative AI with edge computing and digital twin technologies allows for realistic data simulation, modeling complex systems, and real-time decision-making.

The event also emphasized the importance of proactive digital ethics frameworks to address ethical considerations. These frameworks should integrate with regulatory guidelines, uphold ethical principles, align with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and consider environmental, social, and governance factors. By doing so, they can ensure ethical standards, human rights, and legal obligations are preserved while balancing innovation and responsibility in the digital era.

Much more topics were discussed on the meeting, around important subjects such as generative AI regulation in the European Union and North America, highlighting the need for comprehensive guidelines to ensure responsible and ethical use of the technology. The dynamics of innovation using both OpenSource and Proprietary approaches were also explored, delving into the advantages and challenges associated with each.

Attendees were treated to fascinating insights into innovative use cases of generative AI, showcasing its potential to revolutionize various industries. Furthermore, the event addressed the critical challenges in establishing trust and transparency within this rapidly evolving field, emphasizing the importance of building robust frameworks that promote accountability and confidence.

But don't worry if you missed, you can watch the hole event here:

Ultimately, Evenness underscored the significance of generative AI in shaping the future of business and society. By prioritizing responsible and ethical use of this technology, CEOs and leaders can embrace the potential of generative AI while safeguarding their organizations' reputation and ensuring long-term success.

The "Can Generative AI be Trusted?" event served as a crucial platform for CEOs and bussiness leaders to acquire the knowledge and insights necessary to navigate this transformative field and make informed decisions that will shape the trajectory of their organizations in the age of generative AI.
